Sylvana Kroop, born 1971 in Potsdam, received her master’s degree in communication media and educational science from Technical University of Berlin, Germany. After working in the private sector for 10 years (1990-2000) she shifted to the public sector to work in the field of research & development of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL). Since 2000 she worked as media and educational scientist in various R&D projects, in the research and teaching staff at the TU Berlin (Germany), the Bauhaus University Weimar (Germany) and the University of Vienna (Austria). Currently she holds the position of project manager of R&D EU-Projects in the "Technology & Knowledge" unit at the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in Vienna and also works as a lecturer at the University of Vienna and other higher education institutions. Her research interests currently focus on innovative pedagogical approaches in open and responsive learning environments and the relation between technological and social innovations in higher education and workplace learning.
