Georg Schön

Ashoka Venture Coordinator Austria & CEE

Georg Schön, born in 1980, is the Venture Coordinator of Ashoka Austria and CEE. He studied at the University of Vienna and Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration focusing on political ecology. Georg started an association that supported social economy initiatives in Mexico (for which he received the Architect of the Future Award in 2006). Georg has worked for think tanks and research institutes in Central America and Austria, and wrote a book on environmental conflicts, cultural politics and social movements in Latin-America. Georg co-developed a training curriculum for social entrepreneurs which later became the Pioneers of Change course (http://pioneersofchange.at) and was Programme Officer for the United Nations Development Programme in the Republic of Macedonia managing the climate change and energy project portfolio. He is consulting international organizations in the fields of climate change and green economy and engaged in social entrepreneurship initiatives.
